How to Install HyperOS on Xiaomi, POCO, and Redmi Devices

HyperOS is Xiaomi's latest operating system that offers better performance, smoother animations, improved battery optimization, enhanced security, and new AI features. If you want to install or update HyperOS on your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO device, this guide will help you understand every available method. Whether your phone receives the update through OTA or you want to install the firmware manually, the steps below are simple and easy to follow.

Before installing HyperOS ROM, always back up your important data and make sure your device has at least 50% battery. Also, download the correct firmware for your device model and region to avoid installation problems.

Methods to Install HyperOS

There are four official ways to install or update HyperOS on Xiaomi devices.

1. Install HyperOS via OTA Update (Recommended)

This is the easiest and safest method.

Steps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap About Phone.
  3. Select HyperOS Version.
  4. Tap Check for Updates.
  5. If a new update is available, tap Download and Install.
  6. Wait for the installation to complete.
  7. Your phone will restart automatically.

2. Install HyperOS using Recovery ROM

Use this method if you already have the Recovery ROM file.

Steps:

  1. Download the correct Recovery ROM for your device.
  2. Move the ROM file to your phone's internal storage.
  3. Open Settings > About Phone > HyperOS Version.
  4. Tap the HyperOS logo several times to enable additional update options.
  5. Tap the three-dot menu.
  6. Select Choose Update Package.
  7. Select the downloaded Recovery ROM file.

3. Install HyperOS using Fastboot ROM

Fastboot ROM is useful when your device cannot boot normally or you want to perform a clean installation.

Requirements:

  • Windows PC/Laptop
  • USB Cable
  • Bootloader Unlocked
  • Xiaomi Fastboot ROM
  • Xiaomi Flash Tool

Steps:

  1. Download the correct Fastboot ROM.
  2. Extract the ROM on your computer.
  3. Boot your phone into Fastboot Mode by pressing Volume Down + Power.
  4. Connect the phone to your PC.
  5. Open Xiaomi Flash Tool.
  6. Select the extracted ROM folder.
  7. Choose Clean All (recommended).
